Amanda Lawrence
Amanda studied glass at Wolverhampton University and the International Glass Centre at Brierley Hill. She now specialises in engraved and kiln formed glass.
After completing her glass degree and diploma in Professional Development, she set up her own studio, first in Cheltenham and then just outside Stroud where she combines her engraving skills with kiln formed glass.
She is member of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen, showing her work regularly; is a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers with many years experience engraving glass to commission and exhibition and teaches both advanced kiln formed glass fusing and glass engraving at the Baroque Glass Centre.
Amanda particularly enjoys making her own fused and slumped ‘canvasses’ for her engraving projects and blesses the day her husband gave her a beginners glass engraving kit thus introducing her to the wonderful world of glass. She says that unless you’re one of those people who dig up the roads, glass engraving is the most fun you can have with a drill!
